NGC2783A: Already visible at 80x with averted vision. Appeared roundish, quite well condensed, rather small.

NGC2783B: Appeared more as an almost stellar brightening, in few moments also elongated. Permanently seen with averted vision but pretty faint.

Beautiful sight. Large, loose cluster of mostly bright and medium bright stars, which are partly arranged in pairs or groups of three. Also the colors of the stars are slightly different. The brighter stars appear more yellowish-orange, the medium bright ones partly bluish. In the cluster are also the double stars S570 and S571, both well observable with binoculars.

die hellsten Sterne im Haufen bilden im Zentrum des Haufens ein Dreieck, dessen südlich Seite konkav nach außen gewölbt ist - an der Südseite von diesem Dreieck fallen drei sehr eng zusammen stehende Sterne auf - im Zentrum kann ich einen farbigen Stern erkennen - in der Periphere im das Zentrum sind gut drei Dutzend schwächere Mitglieder erkennbar - ein gigantischer Anblick im 8,8° großen Gesichtsfeld, der Haufen wird schön von vier helleren Sternen eingerahmt, die ein unregelmäßiges Viereck um M 44 bilden

der Haufen sieht im Zentrum aus wie ein spitzes Dreieck, das von Sternpaaren und einigen farbigen Sternen gebildet wird - die Nordostflanke schmücken fünf Sterne - drumherum wuseln viele deutlich schwächere Sterne und auch einige recht helle Mitglieder, die aber sehr locker verteilt sind - M 44 wird schön eingerahmt von vier helleren Sternen, zwei gelbliche im Westen, ein warmweißer im Südosten und ein weißer im Nordosten

das Gesichtsfeld von 7,5° ist ausreichend, um die vier helleren umrahmenden Sterne, die eine Drachenraute bilden, erkennen zu können - M 44 selbst wirkt wie ein Geflecht aus vielen hellen und schwachen Sternen - ein Sternpaar im Süden ist besonders auffällig mit Sternkontrast - zudem erkenne ich ein kleines spitzes Dreieck mit Sternen in unterschiedlichen farbigen Ausprägungen - im Nordwesten klafft ein Loch im Haufen - die hellsten Sterne im Zentrum des Haufen sehen aus wie ein Rucksack

AB: At 62x clearly separated, significant difference in brightness. The companion can be seen well as a faint little star, apart from the primary component. At 125x easy to split. Component A appeared rather white.

bei 72x blitzt indirekt ab und zu ein zarter Schimmer über einem helleren Stern auf - die Galaxie ist OW-ausgerichtet und zeigt genau auf zwei weitere helle Sterne im Westen - bei 111x wird es eher schwerer - mit viel Geduld und Field Sweeping liegt die Galaxie wie ein zarter Schimmer über dem Stern - der Stern wirkt leicht unscharf und es scheint, als ob der Stern einen Hof hat mit Verlängerungen nach Osten und Westen - bei 160x wirkt die Galaxie weiter kaum wie eine Spindel, sondern eher wie ein länglicher diffuser Fleck mit der größten Helligkeit genau nordnordwestlich über dem Stern
