- Galaxies within Messier 44 -

I got interested in observing these galaxies induced by a good friend. I didn't want to miss this oportunity, however these galaxies are quite faint and anything but easy with 8 inch. Nevertheless I tried them with little success. The special location within a prominent open cluster makes these galaxies quite interesting, whereby there is nothing to be gained by beginners.

UGC4526 (GLX)

DSS

Name: UGC4526
Type: GLX
Constellation: Cnc
Coordinates: 08h40m53.81s / +19°21'17.47"

8" f/6, 200x, Bortle 4, SQM-L 21.0
Very difficult. After several failed attempts I was able to glimpse this galaxy as a rather compact brightening with averted vision north of a 14.55 mag star, which helps finding.
