© DSS II (blue) - 10×10'
Name: Arp135
Type: GLXGRP
Constellation: Per
Coordinates: 02h40m24.01s / +39°03'47.70"

Group Members:
NGC1023 (UGC2154, H1.156) v9.3 mag 8.7x3.0' (82°)
NGC1023A v13.0 mag 1.6x1.4'
NGC1023A is the faint, oval brightening at the southeastern edge of NGC1023.

B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 4-, NELM 5.7+, SQM-L 20.9
The observation is only related to the bright NGC1023.

FAILED
80mm f/6.25, 50x, Bortle 6-, NELM 5.0+, SQM-L 19.6
NGC1023: At 20x quite small, roundish to slightly oval. At 50x somewhat elongated with brighter center.

EASY
4.5" f/8, 90x, Bortle 6-, NELM 5.0+, SQM-L 19.6
NGC1023: At 36x oval with much brighter core. Located nearby an evident star pair. At 90x obviously elongated with very bright, bulgy core, spindle-shaped.

EASY
8" f/6, 80x, Bortle 4
NGC1023: Bright, compact core most obvious and seen with direct vision. Fainter outer extension seen with averted vision. Very elongated.

EASY
12.5" f/4.5, 96x, Bortle 3, SQM-L 21.3
NGC1023: Bright, compact, round nucleus with slightly oval, brighter core area. The much fainter outer regions appeared very elongated with averted vision.

EASY
33" f/3.9, 300x, Bortle 3, SQM-L 21.4
Besides the very bright NGC1023 I tried to see the faint companion NGC1023A. There was probably an irregularity in the halo of NGC1023 visible, but not sure.
