NGC246 (PN)

DSS
© DSS II (red) - 10×10'
Name: NGC246, PK118-74.1, H5.25, Skull Nebula
Type: PN
Constellation: Cet
Coordinates: 00h47m03.34s / -11°52'18.9"
Brightness / Size: v11.8 mag / 4.0×3.5'
8" f/6, 80x + UHC, Bortle 3-, SQM-L 21.3
At 60x a rather faint brightening, only visible with averted vision. At 80x the nebula appeared round and relatively large. With an UHC or [OIII] filter the nebula was slightly oval, partly lemon-shaped, mottled with averted vision. Very nice view with the embedded stars.

12.5" f/4.5, 72x + [OIII], Bortle 3, SQM-L 21.4
Bright, round, pretty large with 4 embedded stars. Details within the nebula easily visible.
