Several faint stars form the ring and alpha UMi is the diamond. Very nice view in telescopes at low magnification. Visually much more apparent than on photographs.

B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 8, NELM 4.3+, SQM-L 18.9
Alpha UMi was easily seen, but the ring itself was fairly faint.

MODERATE
B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 7, NELM 5.0, SQM-L 19.0
Well visible with averted vision. The typical ring form was quite easily seen.

EASY
80mm f/6.25, 33x, Bortle 8, NELM 4.3+, SQM-L 18.9
Quite evident. Nice view when consciously seen the diamond ring.
