M35 (OC)

DSS
© DSS II (red) - 60×60'
Name: M35, NGC2168
Type: OC
Constellation: Gem
Coordinates: 06h08m54.00s / +24°20'00.0"
Brightness / Size: v5.1 mag / 28.0×28.0'
Very nice cluster. Particularly interesting is the contrast to the nearby open cluster NGC2158 (DSS image down right) southwest of M35, which appears in an aperture of 8 inch as a small, diffuse brightening.

naked eye, Bortle 4, NELM 6.0
Easily visible as quite large, diffuse brightening with averted vision.

EASY
B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 6-, NELM 4.8+, SQM-L 19.3
Quite evident, partly resolved, about 5 stars visible, background still diffuse, relatively large.

EASY
B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 4-, NELM 5.7+, SQM-L 20.9
Beautiful cluster, partly resolved, background still nebulous.

EASY
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 4, NELM 6.0
Rich with very good contrast to the surrounding. Contains particularly moderately bright and fainter stars.

NGC2129 (OC)

DSS
© DSS II (blue) - 12×12'
Name: NGC2129, H8.26
Type: OC
Constellation: Gem
Coordinates: 06h01m07.00s / +23°19'18.0"
Brightness / Size: v6.7 mag / 7.0×7.0'
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 4-, NELM 5.6+
Poor, less evident. I have probably missed the cluster due to wrong coordinates.

NGC2158 (OC)

DSS
© DSS I - 15×15'
Name: NGC2158, H6.17
Type: OC
Constellation: Gem
Coordinates: 06h07m25.00s / +24°05'48.0"
Brightness / Size: v8.6 mag / 5.0×5.0'
B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 4, SQM-L 21.0
Quite evident, oval, evenly bright. Barely seen with direct vision.

EASY
80mm f/6.25, 41x, Bortle 6, NELM 5.0, SQM-L 19.4
At 25x rather faint, only visible with averted vision. At 41x oval, evenly bright, barely seen with direct vision.

EASY
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 4, SQM-L 20.9
At 37x visible as very evident, oval nebula. At 96x a few stars (probably foreground stars) popped out, otherwise the cluster stayed nebulous. At 171x especially at the western and southern edge some stars seen.

NGC2331 (OC)

DSS
© DSS II (blue) - 25×25'
Name: NGC2331, H8.40
Type: OC
Constellation: Gem
Coordinates: 07h06m43.20s / +27°15'18.0"
Brightness / Size: v8.5 mag / 18.0×18.0'
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 5
Some scattered medium bright and fainter stars, but nevertheless somewhat evident.
EASY

NGC2355 (OC)

DSS
© DSS II (blue) - 15×15'
Name: NGC2355, NGC2356, Melotte 63, H6.6, H7.6
Type: OC
Constellation: Gem
Coordinates: 07h16m59.00s / +13°45'00.0"
Brightness / Size: v9.7 mag / 9.0×9.0'
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 5
Fairly small and compact. At 37x only few stars visible, otherwise nebulous. At 80x the cluster is almost fully resolved. Many fainter stars with averted vision. At 171x also the fainter members are well visible. Near the cluster there is a medium bright, orange colored star.
EASY

NGC2395 (OC)

DSS
© DSS I - 20×20'
Name: NGC2395, H8.11
Type: OC
Constellation: Gem
Coordinates: 07h27m05.80s / +13°35'02.0"
Brightness / Size: v8.0 mag / 12.0×12.0'
8" f/6, 80x, Bortle 5
Some medium bright and fainter stars, that looked like an arrow. Overall not too obvious for a cluster.
EASY

NGC2420 (OC)

DSS
© DSS II (blue) - 15×15'

Brightness / Size: v8.3 mag / 10.0×10.0'
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 5+
At 37x evident, very compact, nebulous with few stars visible. Still nebulous background at 80x and 200x.
