SQM-L 20.7: I only focused on the bright Messier 90. Very elongated (1:4) with bright, very compact core. Core area also slightly elongated. Otherwise rather evenly bright.

Messier 60: At 60x very bright center with fainter, slightly oval halo. At 28x Messier 60 appeared more roundish. Easily seen with direct vision.

NGC4647: Quite faint, roundish, evenly bright. Only seen with averted vision.

SQM-L in the target region: 20.8

Messier 60: Very bright, round, extended core area with large, fainter, round halo. Of course also well visible at low power.

These galaxies were first called 'The Eyes' by Leland S. Copeland in 1955 in a 'Sky & Telescope' article, based on their visual appearance.

NGC4435 appears with nearly stellar, bright core, NGC4438 is slightly elongated with also bright core.

SQM-L 20.2: At 37x both galaxies appeared together as oval brightening, whereby the brighter, northern NGC5427 was already visible as round, evenly bright, but faint nebula. NGC5426 was barely seen with averted vision. At 80x the galaxies were well separated. NGC5426 appeared slightly elongated and also evenly bright.
