NGC6956 (GLX)

DSS
Image source: DSS II (blue) - 5×5'
Name: NGC6956, UGC11619, H3.219
Type: GLX
Constellation: Del
Coordinates: 20h43m53.69s / +12°30'42.97"
Brightness / Size: v12.3 mag / 2.0x1.9'
8" f/6, 100x, Bortle 4
Round, evenly bright. At 37x barely seen with averted vision. At low magnification a nearby 11.79 star seemed to be located within the galaxy, which looks like an planetary nebula with its central star. At higher magnification (200x) the star appeared at the eastern edge of the galaxy.
