© DSS II (blue) - 15×15'
Name: M71, NGC6838
Type: GC
Constellation: Sge
Coordinates: 19h53m46.49s / +18°46'45.10"
Brightness / Size: v6.1 mag / 7.2x7.2'
B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 5, NELM 5.5
Round, fairly faint, evenly bright.

MODERATE
B 40mm, 8x, Bortle 4, NELM 6.1, SQM-L 21.0
Faint, roundish brightening with somewhat brighter center.

MODERATE
80mm f/6.25, 25x, Bortle 6
Roundish, diffuse nebula, slight brightening toward the middle.

MODERATE
80mm f/6.25, 25x, Bortle 5, SQM-L 20.7
At 25x and 40x quite large and medium condensed brightening. At 90x the cluster appeared irregular, more oval. A few individual stars (foreground stars?) were visible.

EASY
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 4, NELM 6.1, SQM-L 21.0
At 37x rather diffuse, less concentrated toward the middle. At 150x partly resolved, irregular, background still nebulous. Two star chains outstanding towards NE. Cluster looks similar to a compact open cluster.

EASY
12" f/5, 115x, Bortle 4
More loose, less concentrated cluster with many fainter stars.
