This asterism was discovered by Klaus Spruck and Stefan Schuchhardt. Many faint stars form a sword pointing to the north. Visually the asterism is more apparent than on the DSS image.

SQM-L 21.0: At 37x less evident. At 80x the 'sword' is quite apparent.

The planetary appeared at all used magnifications (18x up to 166x) stellar. At 18x without filter very faint. At 18x with [OIII] filter barely visible with direct vision and evident. At 40x also visible with direct vision without any filter. At 166x a 12 mag field star west of the nebula.

Without any filter very faint and barely seen with averted vision, with [OIII] filter barely visible with direct vision. At 40x still compact, round, slightly condensed. At 40x with [OIII] filter occasionally slightly oval. At 75x glimpsed a stellar brightening.
